PPA awards – outfit choices!

Having won the chance to travel to London this week with uni for the PPA awards at UCL, I’m very much excited and also carefully planning what I’ll be wearing to the important event. Firstly I bought your ordinary pin stripped pink shirt  for the special occasion, then after finding my next purchase I quickly changed my mind and took it back.

I decided to check out Dorothy Perkins, sometimes they do have some cute bits in and also great sales items which I’ve found in the pass. This is when I came across an ordinary black and greyish white dress from the boutique, UTTAM london. I didn’t think too much of it when it was on the hanger, it looked quite dull and boring. Usually I would look for the brightest thing in the shop as I quite like clash items, but not this time round. I decided to try it on and put some small kitten boots with it for height and you know what, it actually looked really effective. Also a bargain at fifteen pounds and after using my student card, it came down to a small twelve pounds. I’ll let you know how it all goes when I come back on Friday.

This blue blazer was bought from HNM in Italy at Christmas time for twenty euros. I think the contrast of the colour’s will look fab with the dress.

Come on, join the team!

Today I started my first week as a volunteer at the Heart foundation charity shop in downtown Falmouth. I have always wanted to join the team as I spend many Saturday afternoons riffling through the sale racks in hope of that special find. I have a checklist in mind of items that I wish to find whilst there in the next couple of weeks.

1. A pretty vintage cake stand

2. Sex and the City Season 1 on Dvd

3. Dress’s and many more dress’s

4. Chanel Bag ( We can keep dreaming)

5. Some coloured sandals with summer in mind

6. One Day book

7. Cocktail Recipe manual

8. China Cups to hopefully match the cake stand that I will definitely find

9. Leopard print Scarf

10. Blue heels

Wish me luck on my exciting finds. I’ll post a picture every week of an item which I purchase, it will be a challenge for me now to find the best and quirky pieces.

Leighton Meester inspired looks

We all love her and they can’t stop talking about her since her first appearance in top american television programme, Gossip Girl. She has become one of my favourite fashion guru’s at the moment. Move over Sarah Jessica parker! Here are some of her inspired looks.

Red vest top, George atAsda – Price – £3.00

Moto  Jeans, Topshop – Price – Price: £38.00

There are so many sailor inspirations that I found on the web. The best imitation that I found was on, which specializes in vintage inspired pieces.

To make this a more fitted outfit, you could attach a white belt like Leighton has to hers.

This next photo is taken from one of the episodes of Gossip Girl. Her character Blair Warldorf never has a bad day. This look is fabulous for the daytime, smart and sophisticated and ready for an important meeting. This is definitely a head turner.

Frilly White Chiffon Blouse, Matalan – price – £16.99

Black Pencil Skirt, Asos – Price – £15.00

Codello Tassel Print Silk Scarf, Asos – price – £25.95

Leighton never forgets to accessrize with her outfits, you can pick up some vintage pearl bracelets cheap on Ebay or specialised websites. Her look reminds me very much of Chanel.

You can catch Leighton on Monday nights on itv 1 in Gossip Girl.

Hope you like her inspired looks. Please feel free to email me any idea’s or fashionistas you would like me to research. Thanks for reading.

Boohoo essential

Like Asos, Boohoo has become one of  the main fashion sites on the net at the moment. It’s hot with the trends and cheap with it’s prices. Unlike Asos, Boohoo tends to sell majority of clothing for under thirty pounds. It’s cute and affordable and only four pounds postage and gets to you just in time for that interview or special event. Here are some of the spring favourites.

Peter Pan Collar Dress – Price – £25.00

A cute and very feminine dress. Style this up with a dark blazer and some short black ankle boots, could be quite versatile for day or night looks.

Pink Shirt Dress – price – £20.00

Casual dress, team it up with some coloured tights and brown heels. Made in Chelsea inspired look.

Button Shirt Dress – price – £20.00

This dress would have been perfect for Valentines day, its fun and free with a romantic vintage touch. Lovely for day trips with your girl friends.

Ponte Peplum Dress – price – £20.00

This is the best dress by far, simple and classic. Very eighties, all you need now is the big permed hair and shoulder pads. Teaming it up with some classic black heels creates the sophisticated business woman look. Brings lovely shape to the body and compliments the figure well.

Hope you liked this post, I will bring you some more Boohoo inspired fashion pieces in later posts, thanks for reading folks.

Towie update

Nearly half way into the series of TOWIE, the sixth episode was dedicated to valentines day for the Essex girls and boys. Lucy Mecklenburgh and Mario Falcone are clearly back on after there romantic dinner at Alex’s. Sam Faiers was mistaken for Carol Wright after new hair cut, she even looks like her too, move on Mark! Lauren Goodger is on the look out for a new man, maybe Ricky Rayment would take her fancy? He has being said to be the new Mark Wright on the scene, more like his son, he hasn’t even reached puberty yet. This guy fails to impress the average woman, maybe in Essex there isnt anyone else to look at. Arg is much better than him, what are you thinking Lydia!

Lauren Pope and Chloe Simms are the same in every episode, just stand and stare and look a guys and gossip about their own boob sizes. Joey Essex and new best friend Diags have their eyes on newcomer Georgina Dorsett, a property developer that claimed she didn’t know anyone before the programme and who is also well known for been best friends with the ‘Saturdays’ band mate Rochelle. Lydia and Arg have officially broken up, thank goodness. Arg needs to grow some balls and forget about her, she’ll come back when she realizes you are ‘Mr Big’. He needs to stop banging on about her in every episode!

The show struggles to bring in an interesting storyline now without Mark Wright. Arg has had to result in hanging around with Joey and Diags and pretending to be friends with Sam. The whole ‘Marg’ thing was the key thing that was keeping the show together, however there is news to be a new family moving into Essex soon, lets see who…
