Minnies Boutique

Hello girls, if you’re like me and love the fabulous The Only way is Essex show then this could be right up your street. As you may well know, sisters Sam and Billy Faiers own Minnies Boutique which is featured in the Bafta winning TV show. Many of the shots are often filmed in there and show some of the cast trying and purchasing the latest trends. The shop has become the ‘it’ place of Essex and many people from round the UK have traveled far and wide to share their style. These are just some of the pretty pieces I really liked…

Tan Mini Skirt – Modeled by Sam herself. Loving the boots she’s supporting with the outfit. Not bad for the price it is. You can dress it up for day or night wear. Aztec prints are all in fashion at the moment.

                                                                                                                                               Price : £ 22.99

Modeled by Billy Faiers. The dress I think is very sixties inspired. Billy pulls the look off very well with some sexy black boots and blow dried hair. Definitely great for a night out with the girls.

                                                                                                                                                  Price : £ 45

The reason why the shop is called ‘Minnies’ is because Sam said it was her pet name for her as a child. She always used to be dressed up as Disney’ s Minnie Mouse. The selection of jewellery for the boutique is majority Disney inspired. There’s a beautiful collection, all decorated with cutesy diamonds, I don’t know which one to pick!

Snow white themed, this unique piece of jewellery is amazing. It’s definitely an eye catcher 😉 The message inscribed inside the ring says “Make a wish and take a bite’.

Price: £ 38.00

As you can probably tell this is Pirates of the Caribbean themed. Rings are my favorite accessories to team up with outfits. This will look great with anything you wear. I’m thinking messy hair and a leather jacket?

Price : £ 25

I’m not giving the website any justice here with just this small selection I’ve chosen. There are so many unique and stylish pieces for you to look through. I’d definitely recommend to check this boutique out even if you can’t make it to Essex yourself. Happy buying 🙂

Animal Fashion

Trends come and go as you may well know. However there is still one trend that remains in our high-street shops is leopard print. I never knew Pat Butcher could be in fashion, eh? Well she certainly is but obviously we would keep it a little lower key. Cruella De Ville the Dalmatian print has started making appearance in top brands such as Topshop, Newlook and River Island. This is just some of the items on sale.

Try this beige leopard print bag for a smart and stylish look, width 30cm, height 27cm.

Price – £40.00 – River Island

Try this with some black tights and cute little wedges.

Price – £26.00 – Topshop

Team these up with a white dress and black gloves, to keep that cruella effect!

Price – £100.00 – Topshop – Mary Jane Ribbon

Maybe this could match the shoes above? Great bargain!

Price – £18.00 – River Island

Lets get into the society spirit

Last week I joined in with the new students to attend freshers fayre. Everyone’s always in good spirits and passing on new and exciting activities to participate. This year was the busiest yet, gathering around the Balti curry and dominoes stalls for free grub.

Every year I always set myself this goal at attempting to join one or more societies, this never ever happens. I was kind of involved with the debating union last year but it didn’t really last. So this year I chose to join the Drama group commonly known as ‘Feccles’. I went along to the second meeting and met a really nice group of people. Everyone was so friendly and interesting to talk too. I have been known to struggle with the usual friend making ritual down in the land of Falmouth. I find it can be quite hard to break into a new group of people.

For three years I studied Performing Arts at college before University and it was always something I wanted to get back into at some point. We played the usual drama games and improv. We’re even auditioning next week for our first play called ‘The devils avacado’. There are a couple of main parts coming up so wish me luck. I’ll have to brush up on the old remembering lines techniques but I’m sure I’ll get back into it.

If you’re a student reading this, definitely sign up for societies, its a great ice breaker and hopefully you will have a good laugh and make some friends in the process.
